Let’s clarify our yesterday’s story😅

First of all, it was centered around the word 空气 kōngqì, which (as 860👤 of you guessed right) means “air”:

空气 kōngqì – air

⭐️

Don’t mix it with weather:

天气 tiānqì – weather☀️

⭐️

If you’re lucky to live in a country with good 空气 kōngqì quality overall, then perhaps you haven’t thought much about the difference between 天气 tiānqì and 空气 kōngqì.

But in China, it’s two different things, not very related to each other! For example, one day 空气 kōngqì can be great, and 天气 tiānqì really bad (raining, but clean air🗾💧), and the next day 天气 tiānqì will be good, but with bad 空气 kōngqì (sunny but polluted☀️🌫).

⭐️⭐️

By the way, to check air quality index (空气质量指数) in almost any Chinese city, install a free app called AirQuality China.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Now, many of you reached out in pm yesterday, confused about the task – because 空气 in the video looked both 好 and 不太好😅

It’s totally my bad!

It wasn’t very clear from the video that the buildings were in haze. So now you can also see in Stories a screenshot from AirQuality app with 151 index. Everything above 150 is bad😷

Air Quality in Shanghai (151)

⭐️⭐️⭐️

How would you say “The air is really bad today”?
