What’s China International Import Expo in Shanghai?

It’s been a busy week again, no posts, only Stories… Hope you’ve been having fun! Just wanted to share with you Shanghai’s atmosphere and news this week✨

A special event, CIIE, kicked off this Monday:

China International Import Expo

⭐️⭐️

In brief, it’s a huge 6-day event (11.05-11.10), and over 3000 foreign businesses came to China to participate and show off their products. Xi keynoted the opening ceremony, and the expo is mostly for small businesses willing to import into China – and avoid the hefty tariffs.

To us common people, this event means tightened security around the city😄

@yourmandarin: @anthonychristi 用“三千六”描述价格是没问题的，因为你后面不加量词什么的，意思就是“三千六（百块钱）。但是“三千六多家企业”看起来很奇怪，这是一种比较正式的语境，而且后面有“…家企业”

@yourmandarin: @kiandra_sq 太好了😎🏅 区别不大，“参加”一般是“参加活动/考试/比赛/等”，而“参与”还有“engage”的意思，比如“参与度很高” (high engagement)
