This is the final post about mooncakes – inspired by @xinde.general.store and his fiancee, sending this amazing box in the background💕
洋气 yángqì literally means “foreign flavour” or “western style”, but it’s often used to describe new, cool trends as opposed to traditional, sometimes mainstream or unsophisticated (土气) things. Read “hipster”😁

Imagine having the same holiday every year. You’ll get tired even of your most favourite flavours! So no wonder that every year, “brand new” flavors of mooncakes come out, and people are excited to get them for their families👨👩👧👦
(🍭We’re talking Starbucks, Haagen Dazs, even Oreo – all very 洋气 ✨)

But there’s another type of “modern style” mooncakes I didn’t know about, before Yinjie sent us with @doloresku a box – the one that sort of blends together the traditional and modern styles. The brand was called 十三妈妈 shísān māma, and it’s like a whole new level of mooncakes🙆🏻♀️

@yourmandarin: @builtlionaire traditional不一定是土气的😅 Sorry if this part was confusing! 土气 means “tacky” or “unsophisticated”. “Traditional mooncakes” was a word from the previous post, so I didn’t include it here
