#FoodWednesday with a phrase from @savvamarina_sova!
Imagine eating the same meal (even delicious) for 30 days. How would you feel?
Probably, 腻了 nì le 🤢
⭐️
腻 nì – greasy, oily; to get tired of
了 (indicates a change of state)
⭐️
腻了 nì le – to get tired of; fed up with; be sick of (something)
⭐️⭐️
In speech, you can use it on its own or with verbs:
吃腻了 chī nì le – can’t eat this any more (had too much)
喝腻了 hē nì le – can’t drink this any more
For example, a few days after @savvamarina_sova shared this phrase in PM, I heard two girls in the elevator talking about ordering milk tea – and one girl said:
“No thanks, 喝腻了 hē nì le” 🤐
⭐️⭐️
But it’s doesn’t have to be just food:
📺 看腻了 kàn nì le – can’t watch this any more (when you binge-watch 7 seasons of Game of Thrones)
🎵听腻了tīng nì le – can’t listen to it any more (when you listen to the same song 50 times)
⭐️⭐️⭐️
How would you say “I don’t want to eat (this), I’m sick of it”?
