5. What’s Up?

✅ 被淋湿 bèi lín shī – to get wet
❌ 被人打 bèi rén dǎ – to get beaten
“因为怕被淋湿 Yīnwèi pà bèi lín shī” (Because (they are) afraid of getting wey) was the answer to this poll – and 74% (733👤) of you have guessed it right!
This quiz was a reference to the passive voice grammar with 被 and a phrase “to get wet” from the rainstorm post.
6. What’s Flying There?
他们在扔什么？
Tāmen zài rēng shénme?
❌ 南瓜 nánguā – pumpkins 🎃
✅ 西瓜 xīguā – watermelons 🍉

Notice how “southern-melon” in Chinese means “pumpkin”, and “western-melon” – “watermelon”😁
