🍙
Everyone in China, have you had your 粽子 zòngzi today? Not too late to get one tomorrow!

粽子

⭐️
Today is the beginning of Dragon Boat festival (端午节 Duānwǔjié), and even though zòngzi have been in supermarkets for weeks – today is the official time to eat them! Or throw them into the river, according to an ancient tradition.

If you are interested to learn more about the holiday, @smart_lingo just shared a post about the history of Dragon Boat Festival, and @timeoutshanghai is sharing cool pictures from the boat races in Shanghai!

⭐️⭐️
But if you’re not a huge history fan, just knowing how to call in one word these “sticky rice pyramid-shaped dumplings, filled with meat, eggs and wrapped in bamboo leaves, and eaten during Dragon Boat Festival” – 粽子 zòngzi – will be enough for today😄

⭐️⭐️⭐️
Have you tried 粽子?

What’s your favorite filling?

We had a mini dragon boat festival cultural learning at school as we would be in semester break for the real thing, and it was awesome! We had red bean 粽子, and it was delicious! 😀
