Next time you try to connect to public WiFi with your phone or laptop, and fail (receiving one of those annoying “Unable to connect” messages, etc.) – say:

Don’t analyze this phrase too much, just memorize it as a piece of vocabulary:
连不上网 /lián bu shàng wǎng/ – the internet won’t connect
连不上WiFi /lián bu shàng wi fi/ Wifi won’t connect
❗️Pronunciation tip: in all phrases with result complements made of 3 characters, put the stress on the 3rd character (上), and leave the 2nd one (不) untoned: “lián bu SHÀNG”😁

@sintiyaps And a tip for ya, think of 网上 as of “online” (I buy things online), whereas of the internet itself as 网络 wǎngluò 🌏
What is the difference between 不下 and 不上? Is it something about who the action is aimed at?
