Ready for #TechThursday? A word from Weibo – Chinese Twitter – today!
A fun trend started recently on Weibo called a #FallingStarsChallenge, which in Chinese is:
炫富挑战 xuànfù tiǎozhàn 💎
⭐️
炫 xuàn – to flaunt, show off
富 fù – wealth
挑战 tiǎozhàn – challenge
⭐️
#炫富挑战# xuànfù tiǎozhàn – ‘flaunt your wealth’ challenge; ‘falling stars’ challenge
⭐️⭐️
In started on Weibo with rich kids actually showing off their wealth: falling out of posh cars, yachts, planes, and pretending to have lost their valuable possessions💸
But it got much funnier when other people, from all walks of life, joined in. Firefighters losing axes, kuadi guys (#ym快递) losing deliveries, photographers losing cameras, kids losing toys…
⭐️⭐️
Hundreds of thousands of people shared their pics on Weibo, but if you don’t have access to it, check the challenge on Instagram:
