And now, a post from @savvamarina_sova – in anticipation of Black Friday shopping craze!

China’s Singles’ Day might be long gone, but the West is preparing to 抢购 qiǎnggòu this week💪

抢购 Limited Sale | YourMandarin

⭐️

抢购 qiǎnggòu – “fight to purchase”; rush to purchase

(usually due to a limited time of promotion)

⭐️⭐️

抢购 qiǎnggòu might be a Chinese word, but it’s a universal phenomenon: it describes people queuing up in lines before the closed doors of a shop (where something is about to be sold for an extremely cheap price)💸

⭐️⭐️

It can also be a noun:

抢购 qiǎnggòu – limited sale; shopping craze
限时抢购 xiànshí qiǎnggòu – flash sale (even faster🚀)

⭐️⭐️

During Singles’ day sale in China on November 11, one girl had an urgent apendicitis surgery scheduled for the evening of November 10.

And guess what? She asked her doctor to postpone it, because she didn’t want to miss the chance to buy all the things she’d already added to her shopping cart 🛒

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Are you a skilled shopper?
Do you take part in 抢购 events in your country?

@mademoiselle.elmira: 抢购

@alice_eleni: Super useful word! 😁
