Are 水电费 shuǐdiànfèi high where you live?

水电费 shuǐdiànfèi – charges for water and electricity; utility bills

In Shanghai, it depends on the house you live in. It can be quite high in apartments in newly built compounds, but very cheap in so-called ‘lane houses’. For instance, in mine, 水费 never goes over ¥20 – even when there’s a lot of laundry💦

Now, notice how all those envelopes in the picture have never been opened? That’s thanks to Alipay!
It has a function called 缴费 jiǎofèi 📲
All you need to do is link your 水费 and 电费 accounts – and once you do it, you can forget about paying the bills! You’ll get charged in the app automatically every month:
支付水电费 zhīfù shuǐdiànfèi – to pay the bills
So by the time neighbors slip these envelopes under my door, Ali has already taken care of things😎

@aishwaryagoenka: In India now, even we pay the bills online. We pay via PayTM app, similar to Alipay here. Earlier we used to line up at the government outlets to pay or on their website.
