A quick post to practice using passive voice with 被 bèi 👀
You might’ve noticed the verb 偷 tōu (“to steal”) in the previous post. If you add 拍 pāi (“to take pictures”) to it, you’ll get an interesting new word:
偷拍 tōupāi – to secretly take pictures (of someone) 📸

Now, this can refer to people 偷拍 tōupāi-jng strangers on public transport or in the street, but let’s hope this will never happen to you😅

Instead, you can use it on your social media to describe pictures taken by you or your friends:
被偷怕 bèi tōupāi – to get taken a picture of without knowing

🐕被偷拍了
👧🏻被我偷拍了

Some real-life examples from moments:
“偷拍😍” (+ a boyfriend’s picture)
“偷拍～” (+ a picture of friends together)
“被我偷拍” (+ best friend looking pretty)

@yourmandarin: @agnescarita Not really, at least not to the same extent! There are words that would make you sound more polite and that you’d only use on formal occasions, but the difference between formal and casual register isn’t as huge as in Japanese/Korean😊
